When a member is logged out, they click on the existing user sign in and it takes them to the log in section, but it does not have a field for them to log in. says email address and then no place to put it. 

did I disable something?

Unfortunately, this is an issue with your custom theme, please create a new theme by going to ACP -> Customization -> Themes -> Create New and then set that as your default theme. You will then see your login fields are back.

ok. I do not have a custom theme though. I am using the default theme

I'm afraid, you have made customizations to it thus it is now a custom theme.

Ok. so will I lose everything? or is there a way to get the default them back?

This will create a new theme based off of an unmodified theme (what ships with the software).
