How to develop addons as a cloud customer?

I am currently a cloud customer creator pro.

I would like to make an addon or possibly modify an addon I purchased.

How would I get started with this without seeing the source files?

Any beginner guide?

I have made addons for IPB in the past but that was during version 2.x

Sorry, as we do not allow access to the source files or the files on the server for our Cloud customers, it is not possible to run developer mode on our Cloud (nor would you want to as it is not suited for production environments). To develop custom applications/plugins, it would currently require a self-hosted license and files to develop on an installation separate from our Cloud.

There is no cheaper dev license? Perhaps something that only works on the localhost?

It seems a bit extravagant to pay $800 plus just to develop an add-on for my personal use.

I have no intention of self-hosting a production site.

Probably will cost less than that to hire someone to make it for you.
