Hi guys

I'm receiving some emails from members saying they can't sign up to the site. I have quite a lot of new members over the last few days and most are but some are having trouble.

"You are not permitted to register a user account with this site"

This is the error message.

Also having some issues with emails bouncing back which is strange.

Any ideas on the sign up issue?

Check the spam defense logs. It’s possible they have an IP or email address that is getting them denied.

If so, there is an option to whitelist it so they can register.

I'll try that now thanks.

Please let us know if that helped resolved the issue here or if you have any follow up questions 🙂 .

Thanks Jim. Unfortunately it hasn't resolved all the issues but I'll give it a couple of days and then report back in here.

I do seem to be having issues with emails bouncing back despite tests working fine to my email. I had planned a bulk email Newsletter but would prefer to resolve that first.

If email are bouncing to certain users but delivering to others...  that means they're sent by your server, but rejected by the recipient's server.

Most likely that means you don't have SPF or DKIM setup for your domain.  Many mail servers won't accept mail that don't have these setup.  Mail delivery issues are matters you would want to address with your host as the IPB software itself simply sends instructions to your server to send the mail.  Making sure they deliver it correctly is not something that IPS can troubleshoot.

If I were you, I might start with:
