Posted November 13, 20213 yr Hey, is there a free converter available to convert from VB5 to Invision? And if yes, what does it convert? Also Blogs and Articles out of the CMS? Greetings
November 13, 20213 yr Yes there is. https://invisioncommunity.com/services/migrate/ when you scroll down to Platforms you can click on vB5. They do import Blogs/CMS on vB4 though. November 14, 20213 yr Hi there, I did convert a couple of years back and I have the converter worked very well and the team solved the few issues very quickly. I only converted forums though so I can't answer on the cms articles.

If the converter will import the blogs and cms from vb4 it might do the same with vb5. WHile you are here, the least that you can do imo, is to to get a confirmation on it from the Ipb staff before you decide to convert to other software. Ipbs is the best and worth the while to wait a day or 2 imho.

November 30, 20213 yr Author I converted from VB 4 at the end (another forum). That worked quite good, yes! 🙂
November 30, 20213 yr I did it recently and the process was smooth however I did need some tech support for a few issues with links which was sorted promptly.
March 19, 20241 yr As there is an open topic on this matter, I add my message here: Is it possible now to convert a VB5 forum into IPS and then merge it with an existing IPS forum, last version? I would like to do it on my own rather than hire IPS staff.
