Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
acarlsson Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 The last few weeks I have started to get email from my IPB, see below. These are obviously spammers that don't have a legit email address. Is there any way to NOT get these emails? Tia, Andreas Quote This is the mail system at host mx01.glesys.net. I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below. <baAnype@hotmail.com> failed: host hotmail-com.olc.protection.outlook.com (104.47.74.33) said: 550 5.5.0 Requested action not taken: mailbox unavailable (S2017062302). Solution Marc Posted October 12, 2021 Solution Posted October 12, 2021 These are part of the "post before register" feature. That email is sent out when a user has posted, but not subsequently entered valid registration details. The only way in which you would be able to stop those completely, would be to switch of post before register. You can see more about this here Ryan M, HelloWorld and acarlsson 3
acarlsson Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 Thanks Marc, I understand the reason this happens. But I don't understand why I, the admin of the site, get notified when a member have given the wrong address, especially during the registration process. You should somehow be able to check a "Don't notify me of undelivered registration emails" preference... 🤔

You would need to speak to your hosting company if you dont wish to get notification of undeliverable emails
