Error code after traffic surge

Hi all:
 

I run www.hoosiersportsnation.com.  We experienced a traffic surge this morning and our site isn't loading properly.  At first I thought it was a hosting issue - our disk usage was really high on our VPS.  I both upgraded our VPS and deleted some old backups to free up space but, alas, no fix yet.  Bluehost is telling me it's a coding/software problem, something relating to PHP.  Is anyone able to help me diagnose this?  Here are my latest few error logs, in case that is helpful:

You need more memory for your server or less traffic. 🙂

@CoffeeCakeWould it make sense that after upgrading RAM this error still shows?  Do I need to do anything to "reset" the system?

You may need to increase the memory_limit setting in your php.ini.

@CoffeeCake you clearly know your stuff, so final question: I did some Googling on where to find my php.ini file, but I'm not seeing it.  Am I wrong that it should be in the public_html folder?  I have phpinfo.php, not sure if that is the same thing.

If you create a file on your web server (something like onlyformyeyes.php) and make the contents:

<?php phpinfo();

Then navigate to www.yourwebsite.com/onlyformyeyes.php, you should see what the setting is currently is and where the php.ini file is located on your server that controls whatever version of PHP your web server is using.

If you are using something like cPanel, etc. this may be something you edit through their control panel. Not sure to be honest. Your web host may be able to assist.

That was incredibly helpful - thank you.  I found php.ini and was able to get it to higher, but that still hasn't solved the issue.  Is there a listing of IPS proficient web developers anywhere?  I'd be happy to pay for someone's time.

You will want to restart your web server after changing these values and make sure that phpinfo shows the updated memory limits.

You should also consider upgrading your server environment to no longer be relying on suphp. It is in a dubious support situation with the original project shutdown.

Navigating to your site just now it looks like you're getting an EX144 error code from IPS.

You should check for database corruption.
