New forum name redirect (curiosity)

When I change the name to a forum it automatically redirects the old URL to the new one. It´s a 301 redirect but...

Where those redirects are saved?

It's a better idea redirect using .htaccess?

It will redirect to the proper URL if the SEO title in the URL is incorrect from the stored one, The link below is to this topic, but the title is wrong. It will redirect to the correct one.

Actually, nothing is saved anywhere.  It doesn't matter what text is in the url.  It can be anything. The topic or forum ID is all that matters.  The current topic or forum name is pulled from the database and a 301 redirect occurs to that.

Same for forums:

https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/forum/499-feedback-and-ideas-of-a-fake-url-muahahaha/

Now I know how it works, and it is not necessary to do a 301 redirect through .htaccess
