Guidelines page’s layout

We have a standard "Guidelines" item in the forum's main menu. The problem is when viewing the guidelines the forum page looks different that any other forum page. The Guidelines page's header appears totally different, it's missing the user account controls and the main menu and instead only has the "< Community Home" textual link. I immediately thought of this as a bug, but the Invision team confirmed that it's done so by design. While it probably makes sense on technical end, it doesn't make sense from the user experience point of view. I suggest to change it to have the Guidelines page consistent with the rest of the forum, i.e. have the same controls and main menu in the page's header.

I guess you are using the Terms of Service field for this, right?
A simple way around the limitation of those special pages would be to set up your Guidelines page as page in Pages. That would give you much more control.

Some pages (including the default "Guidelines" page) are specifically designed to have minimal UI wrappers. The "Contact Us" page and the "Privacy Policy" page are examples of similar pages that have the minimal UI.

Yes, it's the setting "Guidelines Text" of the "Terms & Privacy Policy" config. I don't see a section in the admin panel to create or manage "pages".

It will depend if you have the Pages module as part of your IPS package.
