Joy Rex Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I've got a few users that would prefer to go back to the old BBCode days of formatting their posts (they miss the Source button that allowed them to edit using BBCode). Obviously I can't give regular users access to the Source button and be allowed to edit HTML, and I came across this plugin button on the CKEditor site: https://ckeditor.com/cke4/addon/markdown Would that allow my users to write Markdown code, and when posted gets converted to HTML?
Xenboy Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Looks like it will do what you want, so long as it works with the editor in IPS. It’s worth trying.

No, because the plugin hasn't been updated since 2015 and doesn't work with the CKEDITOR version included with IPS. Also, it would allow your users to post Markdown code, which may/may not get converted to HTML, but if it did then it would then be HTML and editing of it would have you in the same situation.
