Is it possible to create a block for a single Pages record?

I don't mean a feed of 1, but a single specific record. 

I would like to construct the front page with blocks (using Superpages) but I don't want to be constrained to the Record order.

I don't want to use the Embed feature, hoping to use a better looking template.

Is that possible?

You can set a custom tag and then use that as filter.

I was about to give that a shot.

Using Supergrid and being able to set up the front page this way is going to look really good.
