Is upgrading ecommerce worth doing?

I currently use PayPal, by upgrading I mean getting an SSL certificate and, as I understand it, keeping the whole process on the one site.

Have people found that to be beneficial sales wise?

If you're on cloud, it's free.  

If you're self-hosted, you can use the free Let's Encrypt or other cheap SSL options ($10 / yr).  

I don't think it improves the sales process at all, but it does give a legitimacy and trust to your website that's widely recognized.

I had no idea. I thought IPS SSL cert was expensive. 

I'll look into setting it up right away.

If are you want to use Cloudflare, they give away a free universal SSL certificate. A dedicated SSL is optionally available.
