Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Ibai Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Hi, I was wondering if this is possible. Can I store anything in a way that I want avoiding how default IPS does (Monthly folders, etc.)? I rather having stored in a structured way that respects my folder structure for better SEO. Cheers, Ibai
Jon Erickson Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 You can edit the Upload option storageContainer to specify the folder you would like to store your uploaded files too. If set to the default storage location, the file path will be /uploads/storagecontainer/file.txt. If you have a custom storage path then it will be /customstoragepath/storagecontainer/file.txt.
AndyF Posted September 29, 2018 Posted September 29, 2018 Many moons ago (very many) all uploaded files were simply placed into /uploads without any structure. This naturally eventually would of caused issues due to "files per directory" limits, hence the monthly_xyz directories. I should probably point out that is not that relevant and it really was a very long time ago they did not have said structure, possibly < 2.2 series if not 2.1...
