Ocean West Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 In the main search option there should be a way to include archived posts which will search the archive table. Users may wish to do historical research but would never be able to find a post from years ago if they have been archived. I would like to archive topics from along time ago but can't because i got flack when i turned it on.

Ocean West Posted February 19, 2018 Author Posted February 19, 2018 If i turn on the archive feature it would if memory serves locks and moves post from > 5 years ago, most may be old not relevant in the technology realm increasing speed of every day users and searches - but some power users may wish to research some esoteric post.
bfarber Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 So your primary reasons are to auto-lock old topics, and increase the speed for every day use?

I am a plus one for this request. Pretty much what you said describes my scenario. I don't want people bumping old (archived) threads and at the same time I want to take advantage of the archive for speed but I also want users to be able to search through old content because in my forum old content is used to call people out (there is a lot of sports talk in my forum so when someone gets it wrong they get called out, hehehe, yes, even after years).
