I will look into it tonight. I know from previous support he uses custom divisions in his themes

Thanks to @TheJackal84, who generously spent time and energy shuttling PMs back and forth with me and updating a patch so I could use the Profile Backgrounds plugin with @TAMAN's Magnum theme. Aw

  • @Adriano Faria In case you want to add it in a future version, here's the code I added right before the code to uninstall the plugin in order to convert old background data: # Plugin column avail

Clean install fails.

Could you please remove the uploaded file stored in IPS\File::get( 'core_Theme', $this->member->profileBackgroundImage ) when the plugin is uninstalled.

It's a grey area and we really dislike that people store their custom uploads to the core_Theme storage handler, but it's fine as long as everything is removed while the plugin uninstallation.

Please keep also in mind that the paths won't be changed automatically when the storage handler is changed.

@TheJackal84 I've been waiting for a response to the PM I sent you in relation to this application since July 24th 2019. Have you got any update as to the fix for Ehren's themes?

Kind regards.

@Adriano Faria Since updating to the latest version, and setting the permissions through the ACP, the button appears for some members, but when they try to change their profile background they get an error box reading "You are not allowed to edit this profile". Please advise.

Can you give an exact "set up" to reproduce? I'm able to add a profile background as a member. It requires:

  • To be a moderator with CAN EDIT PROFILES permission (to remove images from other members)
  • If you are NOT a moderator:
    • The logged in member must be the profile owner
    • The group of the logged in member must be selected in the app settings.

This matter seems to have resolved itself. If I run into it again; I will come back to you with more information. It could be down to badly cached information somewhere between the site and the users in question. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly though @Adriano Faria

I’ll take a look.

Confirmed. I just submitted a new version for review that fixes this issue.

Hmm...just clean-installed this app on 4.6.7 and I get this in the adminCP settings page:

profilebkgd.thumb.jpg.e07b3069ed13683c63d9667ede8855f5.jpg

Tried clearing the cache, tried reinstalling...same problem.

And what’s the problem? 🤷🏻‍♂️

It has one setting only.

Hmm, ok.  The "Who can use?" led me to expect some sort of menu to come up as soon as I enabled the app via the slider.  I'm not really sure why all of the base options are listed under the "Customize" menu.  Looks like the slider should be labelled "Enable Profile Backgrounds?" (on/off) so then "Customize?" would make more sense...to me anyway.  I guess the placement of the wording made me wonder if something was missing.

Edited by LiquidFractal

This is a core field. If you click in Customize, all groups will show up so you can choose which ones should use the resource. The way it is in your image, means that all groups can use it.
