Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Genestoy Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 I went to move a topic today to another forums subcategory and the forums subcategory I want to move it to was "greyed out" in the list, why? IPS just upgraded my forum and I never had this problem before. Thanks for any help
AndyF Posted June 15, 2017 Posted June 15, 2017 Does the (destination) forum have any topics in it already ? View that destination forum anyway and see if you have posting permissions for it (as strange as it sounds) It almost sounds like you're trying to move a topic into a category (container) rather than a forum...
Genestoy Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Hi Andy, yes the destination has lots of topics, it is a category called "Archived" (for past events) that I move the topics into after they have occurred. Always worked fine before the upgrade and I don't think I have changed anything to do with that. Thanks
Genestoy Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Very strange, the topic(s) permissions only allow the user(s) to see the forum, where all the other categories have the complete rows to select who gets to do what?
Genestoy Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 Andy, It seems that this is a problem with the sub-categories as the greyed out ones are not showing the sub-categories where I need to move the topics into
Genestoy Posted June 15, 2017 Author Posted June 15, 2017 All fixed thanks to IPS support - a couple of the sections were changed to categories in the upgrade and they needed to be marked as "Discussions"
