Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications Matt November 11, 2024Nov 11
Posted June 10, 20168 yr Before I could upgrade mt 3.4 community to IPS4, I had to move to an upgraded server. Migration from one server to the other is totally on me and I have NO idea what I am doing. I have looked extensively for support pages on this, but nothing really lays it out. I am with godaddy and they will do it for $100 but it takes 7 days. Thats a long time to be down. Any help?

June 10, 20168 yr It's actually quite easy. But make sure to take a backup just in-case something goes wrong. If you get stuck or need an advice/help, feel free to hit me up.
June 10, 20168 yr Author I downloaded my DBs, I have 2 of them in my community, and then imported them to the new server using phpmyadmin. I can download all the files from my site using phpmyadmin also? Actually, I got one upload and already facing error messages.
June 10, 20168 yr If you don't need this done right this instant, I can do it for a fee and we can set up a time for the migration. It certainly wouldn't take 7 days to complete.
