Change Forum App URL from "forums" to "forum"

I have changed my IPS install from "/forum" folder to public html.

But I just realized that the URLs of ALL of my topics are "domain.com/forum/topic" and now they are "domain.com/forums/topic".

The big problem is: the old URL gives a ERROR 404 page, does not redirect to the new URL format. It will destroy my SEO.

How to set Forum APP to use the word "forum" in the URL instead of "forums".

I have noticed that I could change the URL in the Advanced Configuration >> Friendly URLs.

I have changed all "forums" to "forum".

Should I have any concern about it? Upgrades can change the customized friendly URLs?
