LDDG Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 How can I prevent certain member groups from being able to edit the Member Title on their profile page? The only option I have found is to disable member edit profile but that is a global setting. Then the member will not be able to edit any other info on their profile. Is their a way to ONLY disable the ability for members to edit their Member Title? TIA
Nathan Explosion Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Search for 'ranks' in the ACP - in the resulting list, click Ranks, then click the 'Change' link in the message that appears above the ranks.....then use the 'Never allow' option

Nathan Explosion Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 Thinking further about it - not sure how that ties in with group permissions. Will take a look later on.

As far as I can find.. it's limited to an all or nothing type deal from what I can see. Not very well thought out honestly if so. That should be able to be controlled on a per user group basis but I guess that would add complexity to the ACP that is not wanted.

Well, it mirrors what has been around for quite a while pre-4.x I've come to the same conclusion as you - it's all or nothing. No group permission there - so a) product feedback or b) customization request for a plugin from a 3rd party dev.
