as IPS wrotein their documentation:

I'd like to build a system like here with categories and tags / labels, too (building a simple blogging system - saves me 30-50$). Is there anyone who has experience with this?

Yes, but what specifically do you want to know? The documentation section is basically the default output you get when you set up a Pages database with categories. The process is described here.

I think it's worth the money to purchase ipblog. It's a fantastic app and your users will love it

I will take a look to it after my upgrade has been finished and all settings are done. Currently uploading IP.S 4.1.
