EmpireKicking Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 I can't find where to change the password. Looked in .htaccess file and aren't the line there. I have my browser to remember the details and so I personally can't remember so I want to change it.
EmpireKicking Posted February 6, 2016 Author Posted February 6, 2016 I know how to enable it once its enable that will disappear and no longer be listed. Once you have enabled it the password is saved on the server which is what I need to find to change the password.
SaltyBart Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 The option says this: Using this tool will overwrite any existing htaccess file in your admin directory. You will also be required to enter the username and password immediately after saving

You will also be required to enter the username and password immediately after saving I'm aware of that and did it months back but now I have forgotten the password. Seems that the line isn't in htaccess. And in my admin directory there aren't a htaccess file at all
SaltyBart Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 You can look at your browser settings by security for the password. (It's hidden but look at a option to show password) (i use google chrome, If other browsers works the same I don't now)
Admonstrator Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 @EmpireKickAss Did you enabled "Show hidden files?" in your FTP client? Sometimes .htaccess file are not directly shown. The password will be saved in a .htpasswd file. It's called HTTP basic auth and there are some generators for creating a new password (like here: http://www.htaccesstools.com/htpasswd-generator/ ) or you just delete the .htaccess and .htpasswd file.
