Hi,

I'm stunned and very disappointing the Commerce system offers no way to get sales data for specific products sold through the system! We're selling more and more products, some of which were co-created by third parties who will receive a cut of the revenue. How the heck an I supposed to give them reports of the sales and what their cut will be?

Please help, I've never seen another merchant system lack this incredibly critical and basic feature and as we add more products it will be completely impossible to continue to stay on the Commerce system without these per item sales stats!

Same goes for the referrals system.. it can be for specific products, BUT how do the associates track the sales they will get a percentage of?!

Sorry if I'm coming off as rude, but this is a HUGE problem.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Go to Admin CP > Statistics > Sales. You can use the "Filters" dropdown to limit to whatever products you're interested in - this will show you how many of each product you've sold in a specified date range.

For referrals - if is handled automatically, and you can see the commission earned on the customer page.

This does NOT help me.

I don't need to know HOW MAN of each item sold, I need to know the TOTAL REVENUE for a specific product, regardless of coupon codes etc etc.. I can' simply multiply number of that product sold by its retail price because there are discounts for types of forum members and coupon codes etc!

It's frankly INSANE that I have to go into the itemized sales list for EACH PRODUCT AND THEN click the magnifying glass icon for each and every freaking sale to get the actual amount paid in that particular purchase, then add them all up, hoping I didn't accidentally miss one or count one twice.

This makes something that should take seconds into a freaking error prone nightmare at the end of every month!

Please FIX. This is not a extra feature request, this is asking you to have what should be considered CORE functionality.

The more I play with the commerce "app" the more apparent it becomes to me that it was in actuality programmed for IPS use and then had a few extra features "bolted" on so that they could sell it as an application.  For an actual store application, it's VERY weak in it's abilities.  Basic features that should be available are not, and certain aspects that should be selectable are hard coded into it.

I really wish they'd spend more time on it and work it into becoming an actual commerce app instead of an "Oh, we can tweak this app we  use internally  a bit and make some more money" type add-on.  Making it a truly functional store type setup would be a great boon.

I'm crossing my fingers that one day ... one day in the not-too-distant "coming soon" and / or "planned" future depending on, you know, how soon future is tagged by @Lindy ;) ... IPS will release amazing first-party apps that will each be competitive on their own.

I know they say that Hope springs eternal.  But in IPS time, Hope invoices you every 6 months for another half-year of hoping.
