Once I converted to 4 and upgraded to a new server with oodles of RAM and SSD drive and have the database and site on the SSD I switched to memcache, and everyone was pleased with the speed and snappiness of the site. But the past week or so the site has been very sluggish and sometimes unresponsive or takes forever to load, I turned off memcache and went back datastore. And that seemed to bring the site back to tolerable speeds. What could be the cause of this slow down using memcache?

can someone shed some light on this? is Memcache faster then datastore?

I guess that I am facing the same problem here. Maybe there is a bug related with memcached and IPS 4. It is very fast before the memcached allocated memory gets full. Maybe a problem related to memory purging.
