Ecnad Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I can't seem to find where to set permissions for blogs in 4.0? I have many users that like to have their blogs restricted to registered and signed-in users and not the general public. Am I missing the permission table somewhere or is this a feature we need to suggest?
Meddysong Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 It's possible to set broad permissions for accessing the Blogs module via System > Applications. Click on the name Blogs and the module Blogs will appear underneath. Click on its padlock icon and you can set the permissions. If you want to set permissions for specific blogs, then go to Community and click on the link Blogs which appears under the app name Blogs. Then for each blog click on the pencil icon, scroll down and change Privacy from Everyone can read this blog to Only the members I choose can read this blog. You then have to start adding usernames one by one, so this could soon get laborious. It would be nice if there were an option to allow certain groups to read the specific blog but this isn't a feature.
Ecnad Posted July 6, 2015 Author Posted July 6, 2015 Figured it had to be there somewhere, thanks Meddysong! The broad permissions is good for now, though the user-selected feature would be great if Invision sees this and others agree.
