Caching - flipping the 'Data Storage Method'?

At the moment we're using 'File System' as our Data Storage Method. Is it okay (i.e. non problematical) to change it to 'MySQL Database' to see if we gain any site speed improvements?

Also of course is it safe to flip it back to 'File System' with no ill effects?

There shouldn't be any problems with doing that. You might want to run the support tool after changing the storage method back to clear the cache though (I'm not too sure if it clears the cache automatically or not).

I did this a few times and have never faced any issue.
