Vikestart Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 How can I set up a global sidebar that can be used on all Pages or a selection of pages? The process of setting up individual sidebars for every single page is pretty tedious.
Joel R Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 It's ironic because most clients ask for more page-by-page control of sidebars.
Vikestart Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Well, there should be a way to choose, or to set up a blocks template that you can apply to the pages you want. It's incredibly tedious right now if you want to make a small change, you need to go over ALL of the pages and change that little thing.
opentype Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 How do you use your pages? How many have you?Pages are meant to be individual. That’s why you set them up. If you want a repeated structure, you wouldn’t want to create similar pages, but a Pages database on ONE page. That way, you get the same sidebar for every record. And if you want to have one content element to be appear in multiple locations, than of course you would set that up as block and place this in multiple locations.
Vikestart Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 These are not pages with records. They are pages with static content. So far I have 5 pages, but there will likely be more.
Vikestart Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Information. WYSIWYG blocks. And yes, they do have to be separate pages to keep things organised and proper.
