Forum topics with attached calendar events

I want users to be able to make a calendar entry straight from the new topic page, and have that entry be affiliated with the thread, so that a brief summary (date, time and duration) are shown in the topic.

Is there a way to do this?

If not, I'd be willing to pay for a plugin making this possible. *hint hint*
