Vikestart Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 One thing I've noticed with IPS 4 is that there's a lot of "bouncing" often when pages are loading. Here's an example with the Top Contributors block: I understand that it's not a bug and it's how things are handled at the moment, so that the Javascript doesn't kick in until the DOM has been loaded, etc., but I think steps should be taken to improve this through CSS. Other examples are the width of container elements changing from mobile width to full width as the page is loading, etc.
Vikestart Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 Interesting.... speak of the devil, it appears this has been improved with the 4.0.0 gold release The Top Contributors block is not bouncing anymore, not even with a hard refresh! Awesome!
socceronly Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Can I ask a stupid question...what do you mean by bouncing?
Vikestart Posted April 9, 2015 Author Posted April 9, 2015 That the size of elements change dramatically as the page is loading, or elements disappear while loading.
socceronly Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Ah! That. I didn't have a name for it. I would just swear.Thanks

It was marked “fixed”, but it is still pretty annoying on my site depending on which browser one uses. http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/beta-4b-safari-page-loading-behaviour-r1429/
