esquire Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 OK, so now I'm completely confused. I look to the sidebar and see a list of Top Contributors. It's a list of people who have contributed most to the site. But upon further observation, this is now calculated by "Reputation" and not by Posts? I have always separated two activities: Likes/Reputation and Content. I think that most would equate Top Contributors with Top Posters. On my sites I usually have top lists for both -- liked and posters.
Adriano Faria Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 It has been like that since Alpha version. I suggested to change the widget title but they didn't.
esquire Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 Good suggestion. But is this intentional, as in another interpretation of how the IPS team envision things should appear now versus how they have appeared in the past? This shouldn't be a big deal for site owners to change on their own if they wish but there should be widgets provided for both Top Posters (whatever that will mean here as in total content, total posts in the module you're in) and Top Likes/Reputation.
Adriano Faria Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 It should be changed. Who contributed with something to a community, does by posting content. Reputation is a reflex of that... that's why I think the title is wrong. Anyway, it's just edit the language bit on ACP.
Rikki Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 In this instance we are equating 'top' with 'best', and we've determined reputation is the best way to show that.
