snugRugBug Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I recently did a fresh install of the new beta, and found some bugs. I poked around on the bug tracker, and found that since I have installed my version, some of the bugs had been fixed ( link to one of the bugs that have been fixed: http://community.invisionpower.com/4bugtrack/beta6-show-as-thumbnails-r2103/ ) . I now wish to also get these fixes to be reflected on my system. I have already tried mysite.com/admin/upgrade, but I get the following message: 'There are no applications available to upgrade'. So my question is the following: How can I get the fixed version on my system? Will all the fixes be released in the next beta at a later stage, or is there a way to get the fixed version now?
bfarber Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 You are showing up as a visitor - do you have another account? How did you perform a fresh installation of the software, as the beta is only available to licensed clients? We release updates that contain bug fixes - they are not immediately available as soon as we mark the bug fixed in our tracker.
snugRugBug Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Thanks for the feedback @bfarber . We do have a client account, but it is registered to a co-worker's email. I originally created this account so that my co-worker would not receive email notifications caused by my activity on the forums. I logged on to that account now, and it seems that the email notifications can be customized pretty extensively. Should I stay with my account, or should I just use the client one?How often are bug-fix updates released? (More or less)

On the other side however, when the releases are made the suite packages the changed files for upload nice and conveniently for you.
TSP Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Should I stay with my account, or should I just use the client one?You should be able to set your account up as an alternative contact from the account that own the license in the "Alternative Contact"-section of the client area. Then I believe you should gain "Clients"-access here on these forums with the account you've used now.
bfarber Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Great, no worries. Your situation comes up often, which is why I asked - now that you are setup with a "Clients" account you'll have far wider access on these forums. As mentioned, bug fixes are only available once we make a new release - we don't have nightlies or direct git/svn available or anything like that.
