Tom Christian Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 I believe that the ability to export / import specific content such as categories, forums, members, topics, posts, downloads, packages etc would be an excellent addition to the suite not only for administrators but also developers. Wordpress has such a feature and it's extremely useful. I regularly find myself installing new local development sites for different purposes and the thing I dislike the most is having to create dummy content. An importer tool would instantly solve this issue  Thanks, Tom.
Ryan Ashbrook Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 The >Converters work well for this purpose. :)
steve00 Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 that would work for exporting/importing an IPB forum (categories, posts etc etc) ?
Ryan Ashbrook Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Sort of. You can import content from an existing IP.Board forum into another one using the Converters. They do not export data, though.
steve00 Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 Sort of. You can import content from an existing IP.Board forum into another one using the Converters. They do not export data, though. Sorry am confused ... can import content but not data (as cannot export data), thought content was data ?
Ryan Ashbrook Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I tend to use the two terms interchangeably. The converters can import content / data (members, forums, topics, posts, reputation, warnings, and so forth), but cannot export it.
