Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt Monday at 02:04 PM
Kbassil Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 According to both Adsene and Google Analytics, my average page load time is around 12 seconds! Adsense is saying this is affecting my revenue. Any ideas on how to improve the page load speed? Here's a link to the slowest page, if it helps any: http://www.pointsmatter.com/forum/page/articles.html/_/articles/game-dev-tycoon-interview-with-weeag-r25
mat206 Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 That page was pretty fast.. I get pretty huge average page load times as well. They measure wall clock time of visitors across the world when it comes to loading your page.. which means the connection speeds could be pretty much anything.
Rhett Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 It loads just fine for me, don't rely on page speed test alone, they are only an estimate, real world testing is the only thing that matters. The only thing I would suggest is to limit the number of article on the front page, and make sure you are using the cache on ip.content.
Makoto Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Rhett is pretty much right, but for what it's worth:http://www.webpagetest.org/result/130620_7F_4A5/1/details/
instruite Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 If you have your own server, check out mod_pagespeed, I have been able to improve speeds of my site a lot (although its still slow then what I want) with that.
