Ae9803 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Your going to have to be more specific, are you looking for VPs hosting or dedicated?
Grandwarrior Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 sorry bub. Gonna start off with VPs since the site is gonna start with scratch on traffic. Once i get a good amount of traffic iwill go for a dedicated later down the line.
Graeme S. Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Knownhost Quality, and great support. +1. Support here is amazing. They go above and beyond.
BostonBob Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I've saw a recommendation on these boards and switched over to Hudson Valley Host. I couldn't beat the prices anywhere. And it's been as reliable as any hosting company I've been with!
vpsBoard Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I've saw a recommendation on these boards and switched over to Hudson Valley Host. I couldn't beat the prices anywhere. And it's been as reliable as any hosting company I've been with! Just pointing out that he's using an affiliate link therefore his opinion stated may be altered as he's posting not to help you out, but to help himself out. I utilize BuyVM to operate vpsBoard, and it's been great so far. They own all their own hardware, they've got a passion for what they do and the prices are great. I've got a 256MB KVM VPS running Lighttpd and PHP-FPM, with MySQL offloaded to another KVM VPS with them. The forum is hit with DDoS quite often, so I obtained a DDoS filtered IP as well and it's been great.
mat206 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Personally I've liked stormondemand.com for VPS.. They give you dedicated CPU cores rather than some type of time slice or processor percentage. Also I've found their SSD (solid state drives) to be absolutely awesome for performance and you can mix and match dedicated servers with VPS servers. They offer a DDoS service, load balancer, bulit-in firewall configuration, block level file storage, private networking between servers.. it's pretty good. My site is at http://www.gamedev.net/
