Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Ocean West Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 The technical term escapes me. But i wonder if there is thought to instead of using pagination for areas of the forums that can be turned in to auto loading when scrolling? Like: Pinterest or Mashable when you reach the end of the page X# of more items show again. An interesting concept with Mashable - if you click in to an article then scroll down after you reach the end of the article and any comments that are posted the ENTIRE site reloads from again.
Dmacleo Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 god I hate that function. if its there I hope its triggerable to off.
Grimace` Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 god I hate that function. if its there I hope its triggerable to off. I'd rather not even have it in the core product such an annoying thing auto load on scroll is ._.
Dmacleo Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I'd rather not even have it in the core product such an annoying thing auto load on scroll is ._. me too but I know some like it so....as long as I am not forced to see it I am good :P
Jυra Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 I think most browsers have plugins for it. I think even Maxthon has one.Pagination is superior in that it keeps your location if you restart your browser revisit the same link.
Ryan H. Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 It's a nice feature for keeping users engaged, it's not so good for pageviews/ad impressions. Trying to get back to a previous page is also potentially problematic.
