Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
ZakRhyno Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 At the bottom of the forums there was a time listing of the server, was that taken out or just disable on IPB forums?
Rikki Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It was taken out - we assume most people will know the time from their computer/mobile device :)
ZakRhyno Posted June 14, 2011 Author Posted June 14, 2011 But the time listing was for the forums sever and not the computer/mobile device no? Can that be put back with a hook?
Michael Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The time it listed was your (whatever person was viewing the page) local time.
Divine Forces Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I've found that by going to System Settings -> System -> General Settings and turning the Debug Level to '1', it then shows the user's saved time & last visit time etc at the bottom of the Board Index Personally I found this a useful feature on other versions of IPB and I know my users did too so i'm going to be setting this to 1 when I upgrade my live board
sunrisecc Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 One can also use the debug level # 0 and have it displayed.
.Ian Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I have only ever used this twice a year when the clocks changed to ensure that the forum was showing the correct time. Might actually be an idea to show it somewhere within the ACP (if it is not already) for such occasions.
Nimdock Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 As an end user I used it to make sure that the forum time would match with my current time. Sometimes I would have selected the wrong time zone or would be an hour behind due to hour changes, etc.
Lewis P Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 It tells you your current time in settings:The time (including your current adjustment) is: 14 June 2011 - 04:11 PM If you want it displaying all the time, just turn Debug level to 1. Nothing given there is sensitive.
Lewis P Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 As far as I'm aware, it only places this line below the board wrapper and copyright:
