Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
marklcfc Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 On this board, at the bottom of the topic we have IP.Board | IPB 3.1.5 ever coming? → replacing ← Previous Topic | IP.Board | Next Topic → When was that put into place? Looks a bit rubbish when its the newest topic, like something is missing. Is the preview topic hover going to be default in 3.2? I'm not a fan and it annoys me a bit on here, prefer the old one. Looking forward to hearing more about 3.2 but bring back the PM notification from 3.0 please. :shifty:
Ryan H. Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I was wondering about that as well. I've trained myself to ignore the links around the forum there, and I kept noticing them today--couldn't figure out why at first. Is there anything else that has been changed here?

I think it is the new IP.SEO hook they are testing out.
Guest Posted January 20, 2011 Posted January 20, 2011 I think it is the new IP.SEO hook they are testing out. It is indeed.

marklcfc Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 There was posted a topic about the topic preview here: What PM notification are you refering to? The box that came up on the screen. Much more useful than having two notifications in the corner, I still think more work needs to be done with the notification system, there is too many options and 99% of people won't even look at the settings. Should have a better default set up.
TSP Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The default setup can be set in your acp. Regarding the popup; you could set it to pop up when you receive new notifications in your settings - but all notifications would then cause a popup. So what you're suggestion is settings to decide what should cause a popup?
Mat B Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Only notifications set to "inline" would invoke the popup with that option ticked.
marklcfc Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 Only notifications set to "inline" would invoke the popup with that option ticked. I've tested that and it doesn't appear. I'm on about the box that appeared on top of the forums.
