Will show how much time each member spends logged into the site.

Notes:

• Requires 1 file edit
• This modification isn't retroactive. The timer begins once the installation is successfully completed and the member logged in his account
• Based on Total Time Spent On Forums 2.0.0 mod for IP.Board 2.2.X, from -Calypso-, which was based on Total Time Spent On Forums 1.0.0 for IP.Board 2.1.X, from ntd1712. The upgrade was previously authorized by him.

Retested in one live TEST board; no problem.

Retested in LOCALHOST; no problem.

What's your IP.Board version ? This is only for 3.1.X!

Wondering...
Would it be possible to adjust this hook, or create a new one, which would display total time spent on forum EVER (so it accumulates)?
Basically, this is what I was hoping for, seeing your hook.

That's what this hook does! Of course, due to the new column added, it does AFTER the hook install.

Ok, OK. I can see now.
Another question...
The hook works fine in default skin and couple of others, but it kind of misbehaves in two of my skins.
I quite don't understand how skin template may have something to do with the hook code.
For instance, in one of my skin, it shows up fine in first topic post, but not the consecutive posts.
Really puzzling.

Hook searchs for hookpoints! Maybe the author of this skin had the GREAT idea to make it incompatible... anyway, all hooks/mods/apps are made using default skin.

You should ask the author some help. ;)

I don't get what time exactly this mod shows, in my profile it shows "19 days" on another member who registered a year ago it shows "3 mins" and for other veteran and active members it shows time of a few hours

it can't be since my board was started because that was 4 years ago and I'm on every day , it can't be since the mod was installed because I just did it a few minutes ago

This modification isn't retroactive. The timer begins once the installation is successfully completed and the member logged in his account

4 years ? Did you use the previous version from Calypso ? If so, the only reason why it happens is that you already have the ibf_members.time_spent column on your DB. When a hook is installed and you already got the column, it keeps what you already got with its data.

Can't imagine other situation.

Possible I used Calypso's but I can't be sure as it's been a long time , whatever time frame it shows from that column it doesn't seems to be accurate

Is this permission based?

For example can I use it only to monitor my staff group (no others - scared it may slow down forums) online time (to spy on them to see who is online the most) and set it so only I as admin can see there time and no one else?

Not in this current version.

I'm planning a new version to be released still in this week. I'll add a setting to to user groups who can see the time.

New version will show in all miniprofiles (topics, PMs, calendar events, annoucements, etc) but unfortunatelly file edit is still required 'cause we can't hook the file that needs to be edited.

One of the things I missed in SMF (Which I converted from), was the ability to see the "top 10" most online users, based on their total time spent on the forums.

Possible feature request? :whistle:
