Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Wolfie Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 I dread the phone when it comes to answering them in a business sense.
Mat Barrie Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I do apologise - could have sworn it was there for both. Shame about that :( Mind you when I had it, I could never reach anyone on the phone - so it didn't work too well, as it just went through to a call centre who could not help. Not good when making a transatlantic call. Still adds to the value of the business licence. I don't know that it's included in business any more either. The announcement in the client area would imply it is not:To better serve the vast majority of our customer base who almost exclusively use our support ticket system, we are going to eliminate telephone support and reallocate those resources previously dedicated to phones to what the majority of our clients use: tickets. We are also adding additional staff to our support desk to further enhance ticket support.
Management Charles Posted May 25, 2010 Management Posted May 25, 2010 What you get per-license is explained here: http://www.invisionpower.com/products/board/purchase.php

Management Charles Posted May 25, 2010 Management Posted May 25, 2010 So what is the live chat now mentioned under the standard licence, rather than the 30 days phone support? Live support chat in the client area.
Wolfie Posted May 25, 2010 Author Posted May 25, 2010 Does it include "I just need someone to talk to" support? :D
.Ian Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Live support chat in the client area. I assume that is for new customers or is that still to be introduced? Can't see converge mentioned on the new site - hope this doesn't mean it is being dropped?
Management Charles Posted May 25, 2010 Management Posted May 25, 2010 I assume that is for new customers or is that still to be introduced? Can't see converge mentioned on the new site - hope this doesn't mean it is being dropped? It is at it says in the site - live chat for 30 days. Perhaps all of your licenses are over 30 days old? We will have more information on Converge soon.

Sorry, Charles on the URL, you linked to it says Standard License6 months software upgrades/supportLive chat support Nothing about 30 days, hence the question.
Management Charles Posted May 25, 2010 Management Posted May 25, 2010 Ah sorry that's an error on our part (by our I mean Rikki). We basically replaced 30 days phone support with 30 days live chat support for Standard license. More people can use live chat than phones and we can staff live chat longer hours than phones so it works out well.
.Ian Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 no worries - assume we can pay for additional live chat if we wish to? The customer section refers to just purchasing an extra month of telephone support.
Management Charles Posted May 25, 2010 Management Posted May 25, 2010 no worries - assume we can pay for additional live chat if we wish to? The customer section refers to just purchasing an extra month of telephone support. If you did want extended live chat or phone support the best thing to do is upgrade to the business license. We are also adding additional staff to ticket support to enhance our coverage there.
.Ian Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Was thinking about this for a new site, but can't see an upgrade price to go from standard to business, or if the business is reduced like the standard for multiple forums held. So wasn't sure :) I will put a ticket in ;)
Garthilk Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Was thinking about this for a new site, but can't see an upgrade price to go from standard to business. How much is it to go from standard to business license?
bfarber Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 I'd recommend contacting accounts@invisionpower.com. Honestly, I'm not sure. :)
