A Walk in Faith Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Welcome to IPB! I am still getting settled in, but I am sure you will simply love it here! Jamie
Wolfie Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 i owe wolfie and someone from support a huge thanks :) IPS community is filled with people who help others out, so it's not sweat. :) In case you didn't know, Matt used to develop/program ikonboard before leaving that to making what is now known as IP.Board. Some followed him from there on purpose, others (like me) migrated over after time of slow developments on ikonboard and found/liked IP.Board based on the similarities. I made the switch back around 2004/2005 and haven't used anything else since.

Wolfie Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 how fitting is it that ikonboard is now dead :)I just checked ikonboard.net and the site is no long ikonboard related. A couple of weeks ago when I checked, it was 'business as usual', so this is a recent change. Also, ikonboard has supposedly become an open source project. At least I think that's what happened, as someone posted a link to it on sourceforge. It's not really a good thing for competition to wither away and die. Competition helps keep IPS on its toes, providing us with better products and overall (for any business) provides the necessary balance of power between company and customer. Not saying nor implying anything bad about IPS, it's a generalized point. As much as I personally don't like vb (don't hate it neither), I prefer it stay in business so that IPS can continue to grow. :)
Abomination Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 community here is full of great people. Zero Omega, Wolfie (thanks ever so much for the help last night, and Abomination (i hope i got the spelling correct man) and many others here :) I'm not sure I did all that much, but you are quite welcome. I'm simply still trying to decide on which ad on products to use for our site (they all look good), of course before the current $50 credit disappears. :D
