Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
enosb Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Since upgrading to 3.0.5, I get lots of emails in my Inbox every day because Members click to Reply, rather than clicking the link they should reply to. This caused the email to be sent to the emai set in the Board's Outgoing Email address (me). It would really help prevent this if the "Do Not Reply" text at the very bottom of the email was moved up to just above the actual email's text. Everyone who has replied to my, "FYI - I got this in my email. Brian" - email said they sent from a iPhone/Blackberry type phone, and the screen is so small they didn't see the "Do Not Reply" text at the bottom of the email. Current email formatting example: enosb, bob has replied to a personal conversation entitled "register.php". bob said: ====================================================================== Just in case the editor misses them I've taken a pic of the problem Probably due to the editor, try using notepad. If attached a clean register file with the edit applied if you want to use it. bob ====================================================================== PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL! You can reply to this personal conversation by following the link below:
optrexnz Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I am noticing this trend also - can anyone advise me where I can alter the text PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL! and placement please?
enosb Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 In the language files Could you please tell me the file name? Thank you, Brian
Management Charles Posted February 5, 2010 Management Posted February 5, 2010 It's in public_email_content but... To find that I just searched for "PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL" in the AdminCP managed languages section. Makes things like this easy :)
enosb Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 Thanks! My first language managing... Wondering what other fun stuff I can do in there - I'll look for some help files on it. Thanks again. Brian
bfarber Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Feel free to ask questions in the peer to peer forum if you need specific help. :) That's the only reason my initial reply was so vague (this isn't really a support forum). But yes, all email templates are in the language files, and most of them are in that specific file.
enosb Posted February 5, 2010 Author Posted February 5, 2010 Right - thanks - I forgot what forum I was in. ;)
