Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
h21thorne Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 and have many members not too happy. I did get another key code, and still receive the same message. Is there something wrong with the chat server in general, or with my key code. Any advice would be greatly appreaciated.
bfarber Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 You generated a new key and are still experiencing this error? You'll probably have to send me a PM so I can take a look, as no one should still be experiencing this problem (it was a one-time glitch that affected a small number of customers, around 6-10 total).
h21thorne Posted January 2, 2010 Author Posted January 2, 2010 Brandon - thnaks for the reply. I just got a new key, and entered it into my board. Chat is now working again. Thanks so much!!
Pope Vipe Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Ok - think I'm missing something, as I cannot even find where to generate a new key. I went into the Client area/packages and the only thing I see is "IP.Board Standard License"
bfarber Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 You first have to "purchase" the IP.Chat package (it is free for the 5-user package, so you won't be charged anything).
growroom Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I've got that problem too! I use ipb 3.1.4 which shouldn't need nothing about that key... isn't it right ? I did what the tutorial of installation says to do...

I did what the tutorial of installation says to do... You'd likely still need to have a the IP.Board key set up and configured both on the installation and in the client center
bfarber Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 You should submit a ticket if you require assistance. We had temporary problems at one point causing this error more frequently than normal, however the root of those issues was resolved. If you're receiving errors now, it's likely due to a different reason, and your best option is to submit a ticket for assistance.
Rich_C Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I also have this problem. Should I set up a ticket to rectify it? (thought your client area is currently down for maintainence) Cheers. Rich
AndyF Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Yes I would suggest a ticket. :) , the Client Area is down for a short time period (this is very rare, I cannot recall the last time it was not available) , sorry for the temporary inconvenience. :) If you are sure you have entered your Licence key, you'll know if not as there will be a yellow box as soon as you first enter your ACP informing you its missing, then a ticket is best.
Kessler Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Yes I would suggest a ticket. :) , the Client Area is down for a short time period (this is very rare, I cannot recall the last time it was not available) , sorry for the temporary inconvenience. :) Someone spilled some fruit punch on the client area, so now it's down while the cleanup crew scrubs up the damage.
