Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Jarle Pedersen Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I don't know if this has been brung up before, but i would like to see an ability to revoke usergroups rights to reply to other users topics in certain forums, but they should be able to start topics. Kinda like the Reply box in Forum Access Permissions, except that this also revokes the ability to reply to own topics...
Jυra Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 What would the purpose(s) be? I've never seen such before.
CalendarOfUpdates Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 What would the purpose(s) be? I've never seen such before. Tech support forums. Especially malware removal sites where you don't what anyone but the topic starter and qualified staff to be able to reply in the topic but you do want people to be able to read the topic and the resolution to the OP's issue.
TrixieTang Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 So few forums would need this that I don't think it's worth having built in, best left as a mod.
Brandon D Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 I may be wrong, but I think I recall reading somewhere that IPB3 already has something like this. I believe it's now possible to have someone be able to read topics, start topics, and reply to only their own topics.
