Better control over profile layout

Not sure if this has been suggested (Or if I may have suggested it already... @_@;;; ), but I'd like to see profile layout easily customizable to the admin, ability to easily change the number of columns, what's in those columns, etc.

Any chance something like this could be done in IPB 3?

Well you can always change it in the skin. I can give you an example because I thought it was too long on my site and therefore changed it a lot. I think my layout is fantabulous and think it looks far better then default but thats me, because I made it but it also fits my needs. :)

Yeah, but messing around with the profile template can be kind of annoying since it's fairly long and one thing misplaced could screw it up. ^^;;;

That all was pretty easy, took me all of about 30 minutes but I knew what I wanted. I do agree some things should be better configured but I know with all those options that are being asked for the profile template will just get that much more confusing and difficult to customize.

It is easy to change but some thing better would be cool.
Or even the ability for members to move things around would be nice.
Kind of like the Socializer mod.

Pretty sure this will remain a mod. Like Army T said, if you have the knowledge you can just spend some time and make it exactly how you want it.

The customization options for profiles are not radically different than the ones available in IPB2. The profiles do have a new layout and design and have been significantly streamlined, but not with new features like drag and drop blocks. The new profile view should also be a lot easier to skin than the old one was :)

As long as they're admin controled appearance changes. I've seen members add color and such to profiles on other forums and I can't unsee them. T_T
