Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
white-worms Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I have a question, in the new IPB3 version. Are there plans to create just one default skin, that comes with a matching admin panel (unlike IPB2 now). But this I mean, will the admin panel use the exact same colour scheme as the forum board. Also will it come with just one default skin, or do you have plans to include more than one colour, like in IPB2 now. Where you have the Blue and Black templates installed by default. One last question, will IPB3 be WC3 Strict?
Rikki Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 The skin will be strict. We will be doing our best to ensure user-posted content is also strict but that's very hard to guarantee. But all default BBCodes will also comply with XHTML Strict, which should go some way. Regarding the admin skin. The front-end and back-end will have very similar skins. They aren't identical - the needs of the ACP are very different from the needs of the board, but they are clearly similar. Our aim is to ship at least a couple of different styles of skin with IPB3 (so, not just color variations, but perhaps a complex and simple skin).

I really like how you designed IP.Nexus ACP Rikki, I think all users who tried IP.Nexus love it. :)
Rikki Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 The code for the ACP is actually based on Nexus. The interface will look different though - it needs to remain somewhat familiar to IPB users who've never seen Nexus.
Guest Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Please don't overload the ACP with javascript like Nexus had. That was the one turn-off for me. :(
