Wolf Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I noticed Akismet is being shipped with IP blog now. I have been wondering, would it be possible to allow it to screen posts and possibly registrations on IPB? I have used akismet a few years ago on a PHPBB forum, and it worked great. I have used an akismet IPB mod once, that is no longer supported or working. I would love if it would become a full-feature of IPB. What do you think? I would like features that preview registrations and posts, and if they are rejected for spam, put in the mod qune or for registrations, the approval qune, possibly x # of spam posts triggers group change?
Mez Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 If you look at the Akismet licencing, it's applicable to blogs only, unless you want to pay for a commercial licemce.

Guest Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 E29 do a product called AkiShield, which is an IPB component that uses Akismet to filter posts... It's on IPS resources:http://resources.invisionpower.com/index.p...mp;showfile=876

ichadwick Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I'm a bit confused about Akismet. I see the link to the site, but the Akismet site doesn't list the Invision blog as one of the implementations. Will the Wordpress key work equally well? Or is there a third-party implementation anyone knows about?
bfarber Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 We only recently implemented it, and haven't contacted them to add IP.Blog to the list. Yes, the wordpress key (which the email you get from Wordpress states serves as your Akismet key) will work.
