akiratheoni
My opinion is that it should remain a mod. If it's really easy for mods to be integrated into IPB3 as they say, then I think that it shouldn't be a problem to add the mod if you really need it. TrixieTang
With it built in it'll start to become more common. Then people will just start making new accounts anyway. I see your point now that I think about it...
Dr. Adam
Not all forums suffer from morons. -1 for built in +1 for optional mod
Favre4Ever
No, don't make it default. I use this as a mod, but think; if it's default, the feature becomes well known to all, and "the morons" will know the true reason why the board is acting "differently", which would ruin its effectiveness. InfoByte
Annoying users are something all forum owners must be forced to face at some point, the best way is to have a capable board staff that are always alert, and a good set of banfilters set up to prevent the use of things like disposable email addresses. If you set your forum up correctly, it will be quicker for you to ban troublesome users and their IP addresses than it will for them to open another email account, find another proxy, and re-register, eventually they will get bored and go away. The banfilters that I have used on my website with regards to email have stopped a large amount of spam registrations. Here are some common ones:*@cashette.com *@inode.at *@fischpisse.de *@t-online.de *@bnv-bamberg.de *@macnews.de *@trash-mail.de *@campus.ru.ac.za *@naws.com *@land.ru *@op.pl *@netcologne.de *@mail.uct.ac.za *@axelero.hu *@cox.net *@ecarta.biz *@gmx.net *@sibmail.com *@pisem.net *@thereisnoname.biz *@ptd.net *@discardmail.de *@swipnet.se *@htr.hu *@smoug.net *@spamgourmet.com *@nakedworldcelebrities.com *@xs4all.nl *@teleline.es *@mertech.com.au *@web.de *@quensen.net *@quickhealthclinic.com *@online.ms *@mail.ru *@bot-test.info *@mailinator.com *@bugmenot.com Import these using the ban filter part of your AdminCP
