Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Danno 61 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 It would be great to have additional checks in tools setting in acp for the following. Show location YES NO Show messenger links YES NO Show birthday without year YES NO (this is a biggie) Show birthday YES NO Show Gender YES NO (This is a biggie to me, My site is primarily for families, so please consider adding family  to the list or give the option to take it off completely. With just male and female showing, it gives some people the notion that my board is a dating site, which it is not. ) Show custom profile fields inside member toggle area YES NO Note: better yet, when adding a custom field, put an option to have this show in or out of toggle search area right in the custom profile field when it is created. Basically show on off features for all items/features showing with a simple YES or NO Another note:Please add location and interest to members search area. I think interests is an important feature to add to the members search area. It would be nice to even have an on off feature for all features in MY Controls. This would make every board extremely customizable in a snap! ;) One more thing. Add a note at the top of the regular search engine, place a note something like this. "This search area is for searching topics and posts only, to search members. please click here" Hope this is helpful Thanks Danno

Stella Artois Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 Something along the same lines, members should be able to disable profile view logging so that they don't show up in the recent visitors list if they don't want to. I would also say this is more important for admin and moderators.

This goes right back to the birthday year showing. A lot of people may want to show their birthday . but not the year. TO MUCH INFORMATION. :ermm: Better yet have this as a Yes/no feature for admin CP to even have this showing on their board. Just trying to keep it simple :) Can a moderator of this board add a poll to this topic? It would be appreciated. Good idea? Yes No Maybe
bearback Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 members or admin option to disable members profiles independently would be a good option. i have had a few members who want to make there profile private to other members of the forum but no way of sorting this for them.
Andrεw Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 +50 This would be great. My board is for kids, and I'd like to disable the messenger part without editing the files. I also like the birthday without years.

I also like the birthday without years. You can turn off the messenger on a per-group basis already, which entirely removes it without editing of files.
