Keven Fox Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Bah! It doesn't support animated avatars. I like cool dancing kitty :P He's got groove...
BryanH Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 http://en.gravatar.com/site/implement/ipboard Official implementation guide AWESOME! Do you have to manually enter your email address, or does it automatically check against the email address you're already registered with?IPB3 will have Gravatar support DOUBLE AWESOME! You guys are swell.
Vince G. Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Manually enter, i did that to allow member to enter email different then the one they registered with.
Stuart Elliott Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 IPB3 will have Gravatar support Never likely to personally use it, but for including it for those that want it.
bfarber Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Manually enter, i did that to allow member to enter email different then the one they registered with. We did the same, for the same reason.
Vince G. Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 We did the same, for the same reason. Cool, Glad we think the same way. :)
BryanH Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 How difficult would it be to just auto-use the email in the profile and then have a field to change it if desired? The convenience of the Gravatar service is being able to register on a multitude of sites and have my gravatar be automatically recognized and used. If I have to input an email address, well that's just like uploading an avatar. It's an extra step. Know what I mean?
Vince G. Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 It shouldn't be that hard, just set the default gravatar email as the one the member registered with, and if he wants he could change that. Something simple enough.
