Lindsey_ Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 The first line of the traceart says "Request Timed Out." Could that be the cause for his problem?
zigs Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I never download files because I have no need ... I just tried to download and I get corrupt file as well
Lindsey_ Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 The download works as I just tested. Using Firefox 3 beta 4 ;)

sychn Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 My guess you have some kind of firewall/router setting problem.
sunrisecc Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 If you are using IE7, one can always try starting IE with no Add-ons via System Tools/IE7 (with no addons). Download managers can also play havoc with some downloads.
Mat Barrie Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Lindsey_ said: The first line of the traceart says "Request Timed Out." Could that be the cause for his problem? Nope. Some routers don't respond to ICMP PINGs you see, and Comcast likely have one of them.

Mark Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 If IPS is the only website that is the problem... perhaps you could just ask someone at IPS to EMail you the zip?
Black Prowler Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 bfarber said: I'm not saying it's purely your browser Prowler. ;) What I'm saying is that the code is relatively standard, and most everyone else is not having a problem. So there is something different about your setup that triggers a problem which no one else is seeing. well that could very well be but I haven't discovered what it is yet and IPS is the only sites I am having trouble downloading from. ;) Lindsey_ said: The first line of the traceart says "Request Timed Out." Someone else has the same problem I have been experiencing...I'm not nuts after all :P Well since I'm not the 'only one' now what??? :ermm: sunrisecc said: If you are using IE7, one can always try starting IE with no Add-ons via System Tools/IE7 (with no addons). I didn't understand this...so how would this effect or not effect me? zigzag* said: Correct, it was my Norton, I checked as for some reason I couldn't download from iTunes either.. it is fixed now and I can download the files fine It's definately NOT my firewall. I have IPS added to the allowed sites list and regardless of wheather the Firewall is OFF or ON I get the same result with IPS sites and can still download from other sites fine. Professor P said: If IPS is the only website that is the problem... perhaps you could just ask someone at IPS to EMail you the zip? I've already done that and they have sent me the Board files. Still trying to get the latest IDM and Converge(I have to check my email tonight...they may have been sent by now. ;) ) However I don't think I should have to go through this indefinately. :(
sunrisecc Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 If you are using IE7, one can always try starting 'IE with no Add-ons' via System Tools/IE7 (with no addons). If the error still occurs, then you have eliminated all add-ons from the picture.
Mat Barrie Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Black Prowler said: I didn't understand this...so how would this effect or not effect me? It just means that when you run Traceroute, the Comcast router (the first machine you connect through) doesn't respond to PINGs, and pings are how (Windows) Traceroute works out what the IP of each "hop" is.
Mert Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Lindsey_ said: The first line of the traceart says "Request Timed Out." Could that be the cause for his problem? I don't think so as I have just tried TraceRoute with a website that I'm able to download files and got the same result a few times. Nothing to care about.
