Mark Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 If you're not in the customers group and you try to access the secret-customer-only forums you get teh default error message. Maybe change it to something like IPSBeyond had?
CalendarOfUpdates Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 And maybe add the alternate contacts permission.
CharlesC Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 And maybe add the alternate contacts permission.Nothing is even close to being complete by the look of things, I'm sure they're working on it.
.Ryan Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 And maybe add the alternate contacts permission. I'd say no. Because if your not the "root" customer then you shouldn't have access to it. Alternate Contacts are for submitting support tickets ect... I don't think they need special benefits on the forums... otherwise they can buy a license lol. We gotta keep it atleast somewhat exclusive.
CharlesC Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 You can't get more exclusive than having private forums away from members..
.Ryan Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Well I mean that whats the point of giving alternate contacts access... I could see some benefits, but I thought they just were for submitting tickets, ect.
CharlesC Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Well alternate contacts can be for a number of things, helping out by upgrading modules/ip.board, submitting tickets as you said, and even just stepping in for the license owner when he/she is busy.
Management Charles Posted December 13, 2007 Management Posted December 13, 2007 It will be evolving over the next few weeks :)
CharlesC Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Can't wait to see what's in store for IPSBeyond.
ColdinCbus Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 I'd say no. Because if your not the "root" customer then you shouldn't have access to it. bfarber Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 Yeah, there will be a lot of work in process as we iron things out.
