Invision Community 4: SEO, prepare for v5 and dormant account notifications By Matt November 11, 2024
Y0Y0 Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Can someone remind me where I go to backup my forums again before I go ahead with this ?. Sorry I've only had IPB for 2 weeks :D
Steve G. Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I heard from someone WinMerge doesn't support TXT diff reports...I use WinMerge without any problem for diff report before any IPB/IP.Board upgrade since v1.0.x :)
Steve G. Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Can anyone tell me if you upgrade will it erase old posts?No. ;)
Steve G. Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I went to go manually edit the template for my skin, but strangely I had a lot of the edits already done on my skin...?Yeap, same here...Example from diff report -- html file downloaded at IPS (IP.Board 2.3.0 Released annoncement):- skin_boards > stats_header-- Removed HTML >> &k={$this->ipsclass->md5_check}">-- Added HTML >> ">- IP.Board Pro:- skin_boards > stats_header>><!-- Board Stats --> <div class="toplinks"><span><a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=Login&CODE=06&k={$this->ipsclass->md5_check}">{$this->ipsclass->lang['d_delete_cookies']}</a> · <a href="{$this->ipsclass->base_url}act=Login&CODE=05">{$this->ipsclass->lang['d_post_read']}</a></span></div>
Stewart Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 It's possible the additions/removals are in reverse, I'll have it looked at :)Edit: Nope, looks good.
Mert Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I get a fatal error :blink:Fatal error: Unable to read 85284 bytes in /home/********/public_html/sources/ipsclass.php on line 0

Breed Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 So if we have custom BBCode we have to rebuild all posts/sigs/PMs? GREAT! You don't know how much this sucks with a damn big forum... Sometimes your "improvements" are more s**** than useful... Sorry to say that, but it's true in this case. My day is ruined now.

sparc Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I started rebuilding posts around 5pm....500 per cycle....it was only 1/3 of the way through after 7 hours and slowing down.At some point i think my internet connection got a little screwy and everything konked out.I restarted the server and started rebuilding posts at 1000 per cycle this morning. Seems to be running better this time around.Is there approximate estimates posted somewhere on what's normal?
Breed Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 have a break. It doesn't take that long.I dont want a damn break. I want to have my board up and running and not being forced to rebuild everything for hours! I had to restart the post rebuilding process, because of a damn driver error. Now that's great!edit: Rebuilding process just crashed the second time... I try to rebuild 1000 per cycle now. Any ideas what causes this? And in such a case, it would be better to continue the rebuilding process from where it crashed and not from zero.
Cherrymenthol Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 I must say I'm rather impressed, I love the ACP. Good job on this one guys.
cinek Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 after reading all the posts - I'm gonna wait for a day or two before upgrading :P
thidepxinh Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 you'd need to reinstall your mods.OMG, but those mod only work with v2.2. but does it work with v2.3 also?
Keith J. Kacin Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 OMG, but those mod only work with v2.2. but does it work with v2.3 also?It is best to contact the author of each mod to see if it does. Sometimes it may, but others may require the mod author to update it to 2.3.
zigs Posted June 14, 2007 Posted June 14, 2007 Am impressed :D Thanks to JasonIPS :wub: he did the upgrade last night, all my mods - arcade/sudoku work and just had to do one file edit for shoutbox and everything perfect!!
Management Charles Posted June 14, 2007 Management Posted June 14, 2007 Will there be a GDK for IP.Board Pro Skin?Yes there will - probably next week :)
